# Start Scan on Google Workspace Email Account

This document will provide information on how to start an Email Threat Simulator scan to the email inbox using a Google Workspace account.

To use the Email Threat Simulator with a Google Workspace email account, the app requires a password.

## Create an app password

Follow the steps to create the app password for the Google Workspace account.

1. Go to your [Google Account](https://myaccount.google.com/) (for test mail address)
2. Select **Security**.
3. Under “**How to sign in to Google**”, select **2-Step Verification**.
4. At the bottom of the page, select **App** **passwords**.
5. **Enter** **a** **name** to help you remember where to use the app password.
6. Select **Create**.
7. **Copy and save the app password** for use in the Keepnet interface.
8. The app password is a 16-character code generated on your device.
9. Select **Done**.

## How to start a simulation with a Google Workspace account?

This section describes the steps to start a scan with Google Workspace in the Email Threat Simulator product.

1. Go to **Email Threat Simulator > Scans** page from the left menu on the platform.
2. Click on the **+NEW** button to start a new simulation.
3. Read the warning message and then click on the “**I Understand**” button.
4. Fill in the **Test Email Address** field.
5. Check '**Automate with password**' under **Choose** **an** **Option**.
6. In the **Password** field, enter the app password value you created before.
7. Click on the **Next** button.
8. In the **Scan** **and** **Delivery** step, set the delivery speed as desired.
9. Click on the **Next** button.
10. Confirm the **User Agreement**.
11. Start the simulation by clicking on the **Save** button.
